MAP
Earmarkable digital euro

Euros, on a real account, that can only be spent where you decided.

This is MAP’s earmarkable digital euro. Every beneficiary gets a real account with their own IBAN and a universal payment card: they pay in shops, online and anywhere in the world. You choose who, when, how much, where and what for. Every payment is recorded on a tamper-proof blockchain.

  • Electronic money institution authorised by the ACPR, no. 17698
  • Funds safeguarded at BNP Paribas, held apart from MAP’s own
  • A real account: IBAN, universal card, QR code
  1. A funder opens the Equipment 2026 programme and safeguards a 7 200,00 € allocation.
  2. Each of the twelve designated beneficiaries receives 600,00 € on a real account, with their own IBAN and universal payment card.
  3. At the checkout, the drill bought from an approved supplier is accepted for 120,00 €, the purchase outside the category is declined.
  4. The accepted payment is recorded on the tamper-proof blockchain.

The flow

From budget to payment, in four stages.

The mechanism is the same whether you give funds or collect them.

  1. 01 Collection Funds arrive by transfer and are attached to your programme.
  2. 02 Issuance They become digital euro, one for one, allocated as envelopes.
  3. 03 Earmarking Your rules apply before the spend: who, when, how much, where and what for.
  4. 04 Payment The beneficiary pays the intended suppliers by card, transfer or QR code.

Benefits

What the earmarkable digital euro changes, in seven points.

Select a point: you see what it settles, for the funder and for the beneficiary.

What it solves

Concrete

  • The beneficiary no longer pays out of their own pocket.
  • No expense claim to fill in, and no reimbursement to wait for.
  • No paper voucher or code to manage: they pay as with any other card.

Use cases

Choose your type of organisation.

For each case: who funds, who spends, who receives, and what the rule allows.

Delegate an equipment budget Do away with expense advances

These cases describe programmes MAP sets up, from the same services and the same earmarking rules.

Companies example

A company opens an envelope of €600.00 per technician to renew their tools. The money can only be spent at approved suppliers, until the end of the year, and every payment is recorded on the blockchain.

Funds The company
Spends The technician
Receives The approved supplier
A cordless screwdriver at €240.00 from an approved supplier
Filling up the car on a Saturday

These cases describe programmes MAP sets up, from the same services and the same earmarking rules. The amounts are examples. The proof covers the payment, not the delivery.

Our reference

Poto already runs on MAP.

A complete solidarity programme: collection, issuance, allocation, payment, and every contributor sees what their euro paid for. It runs on the infrastructure we put at your disposal, with the same services and the same proof. Your programme starts from your own rules.

Editorial staging of hands preparing a solidarity basket with everyday goods.
Editorial staging. It represents neither a beneficiary nor a real event of the programme.

Rollout

Four steps, one point of contact.

A programme is prepared. You define the use, then the rules that are really needed. You review the exchanges with your information system, then open the programme to a first group of beneficiaries.

01

The first call

The use, the roles and the rules: who, when, how much, where and what for.

02

What is chosen

The services selected, the means of payment opened and the contract.

03

Testing

Accepted payments, refusals, refunds: the rules are tested before opening.

04

Operations

The programme runs, and you follow every payment in real time.

  1. A payment of 120,00 € is made at a referenced supplier, on 12/10/2026 at 12:04.
  2. The payment is sealed: it becomes block 145, carrying the fingerprint 4f2a…c19b.
  3. The block joins a chain of five blocks, where every block locks the one before.
  4. Changing the amount to 480,00 € breaks the seal and the link: the chain rejects the change, then the original record is restored.
Traceability

A tamper-proof proof, with its scope written down.

The proof covers the payment: amount, supplier, date, rule applied. It does not cover the contents of the basket, and no personal data is recorded on the chain.

Frequently asked questions

The four that come up.

The other answers, on who it is for, electronic money, means of payment and budget, are gathered on a single page.

Who is MAP for?

Organisations that give or collect funds for a specific use. Local authorities, companies, networks, corporate donors, foundations and endowment funds, charities and platforms. You pay out or you collect. MAP provides the account, the card, your rules and the proof of every payment.

What is an earmarkable digital euro?

Euros, on a real account, that can only be used for what you have decided. You set the rules before the money is spent: who, when, how much, where and what for. It is electronic money, issued one for one against the euros you pay in. It is neither the Eurosystem’s digital euro project nor a bank deposit.

Understanding electronic money

Does MAP provide an account, an IBAN and a card?

Yes. A real account with an IBAN, incoming and outgoing transfers. A universal payment card, not a prepaid card. Online payment, the QR code and the app, usable anywhere in the world. Your programme’s rules decide where and what they work for.

Accounts and payments

What can I decide for my programme?

Who, when, how much, where and what for. You choose the registered beneficiaries, the ceilings per transaction, per day or per month, the period, the authorised suppliers or categories, the geographic area. You allow online payment and cash withdrawals, or you do not. For example: €600.00 per household, at food suppliers in the chosen area, for three months.
